| Description & Qualifications : |
Under minimum supervision, performs complex clerical bookkeeping/accounting functions according to established procedures. Work involves classifying and posting accounting documents; balancing individual accounts at the end of accounting periods; preparing related clerical reports and parts of financial statements; communicating with the district's jurisdictions regarding account balances, billing discrepancies, etc.; coordinating with other division and district employees in matters relating to the accounts receivable process. |
| Education & Experience : |
High school graduate or equivalent; Two (2) years of college accounting courses preferred.
Minimum 3 years experience in the accounts receivable process.
Familiarity with posting and balancing individual accounts through formal education or practical experience is required.
Proficient in the operation of personal computers and the Windows operating system, to create, maintain, and manipulate databases and spreadsheets to support division goals.
Ten-key by touch with reasonable speed.
Ability to work independently with limited direction from supervisor, and maintain a high degree of productivity and accuracy.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with division and district employees regarding accounting related matters. Testing will be conducted for writing and math proficiency.
Ability to maintain high levels of confidential information.
