| Description & Qualifications : |
Perform advanced professional accounting work involving the district's accounting records, biweekly payroll processing, internal audits, insurance reporting and bid specifications; coordinate with other division and district employees in all matters relating to the general ledger and assist in processing the districts payroll. |
| Education & Experience : |
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Two (2) years of college accounting courses preferred.
Requires excellent analytical, technical writing, word processing and interpersonal skills.
Skill in operating personal computers, office equipment and related software programs, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience in accounting, payroll, auditing and bookkeeping.
Ten-key by touch with reasonable speed.
Ability to communicate with division and district employees regarding accounting and payroll related matters.
Familiarity with required payroll reporting for unemployment insurance, income tax and benefit programs.
Familiarity with required bid preparation for workers' compensation and general liability insurance, depository and the financial audit.
Familiarity with the AICPA Governmental Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards and the ACIPA Audit and Accounting Guide for Audits of State and Local Governmental Units, and the GFOA's Governmental Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting Text.
Candidate must have the ability to maintain confidential payroll and accounting information.
