Public Affairs Officer Donna Psencik identifies the four main ways to communicate with the appraisal district: by email, by telephone to our call center, by walk-in service in our Information and Assistance Center, or by first class mail. (4:08 mins.)
Hi, I'm Donna Psencik with Harris Central Appraisal District.
Do you have any questions about your property tax appraisal, an exemption, or a similar matter?
There are four ways you may contact us: through email, by telephone, our walk-in service counter, and first class mail.
Email is our newest service. Harris Central Appraisal District has a busy ebank operation, and we fully support email communication. Our ebank staff are some of our most knowledgeable employees, and they are all highly trained. You will not get robot answers. A real person will read your email and respond to you personally. You can submit your question, using the contact us form found on the website under about. Scroll down to account questions/information and click on the click here link next to the by web form text.
We also have a telephone information call center. We don't outsource this service. Every person answering the phone for HCAD is a trained, full-time employee. When they're not answering phones, they work in the very areas you have questions about. We try to keep your wait time between 3 to 5 minutes, but in peak periods we may take longer. Our phone center handles the majority of some 250,000 telephone calls a year. Even so, they'll take the time needed to answer your question thoroughly. Our telephone number is 713-957-7800.
Walk-ins are welcome at Harris Central Appraisal District. Our walk-in assistance center has previously won awards for its public service. During peak times, every counter station is staffed; if someone takes a break or is ill, another trained information specialist will take their station. So even during the lunch-time hours, be assured we'll have the staff needed to handle the crowd. Our specialists can handle many problems themselves, but they can also call on experts from all over the building if needed. The walk-in center is located on our third floor and was designed with you in mind. The parking is free, and we are located at 13013 Northwest Freeway, near the Hollister exit.
First class mail service is always available to you. It is the preferred method for filing exemption applications and other documents that must be provided with a signature. Every piece of mail we receive is file-stamped and logged. Our postal service address is P.O. Box 922004, Houston, TX 77292-2004.
However you choose to contact us, we'll handle your matter like we'd want any government agency to treat a member of our family. We may not always be able to give you the exact answer you want, but we are committed to treating you with respect, dignity, and professionalism. Thank you for watching, and we look forward to helping you in the future.
